About designer José Antonio

Born in 1952, José’s father Juan Rodriquez Perez was a prominent blacksmith who was taught the craft at a young age,.
José Antonio studied architecture at UNM Stadium University in 1975-1980. In 1982 he decided to set up a sculpture workshop independently. He is the second generation of the artisan of “The Saturday Bazaar” his father being one of the founders.

From 1987 José Antonio started exhibiting his work every Saturday at the Bazaar with successful demands from Mexico and abroad.

Chronology

1996:
Made a play for the Universum Museum, exhibited at the conference “The Universe”

1997:
The UNAM public recognition in the book “Science Art”

1998:
600 design works including sculptures, lamps and objects of art

2000:
Work Mural 4.30 x 4.30meters at the main entrance of Arabela S.A.C.V. In 2000 Industrial Park Toluca Edo. Mexico

2001:
Madrisa Spain. Various works of art commissioned to David Summers Rodriguez of “G Men”

2002:
Special Sculpture in iron and glass to the Princess Palace

Bodour Al Quasimi “SHARJAH” United Arab Emirates

2005:
Invited to four iron-forging demonstrations and exposing II Guadiana influential works in the Museum of San Iidefonso. The Exhibition “Architect Artists Guadi Unusual”.
