Resolutions

I’ve been contemplating posting this for a while. Probably a little embarrassed to expose such simple resolutions but since it’s almost already February and so far it feels like my life is improving keeping up with these new year challenges. It’s non-intimidating, so it’s quite a refreshing change.

So here we go!

Cycle
Getting back on my bike after 6years is accomplishment on it’s own. Getting over the insecurities of cycling in a city where it’s actually quite hazardous cycling on public roads is another thing. What’s surprising is noticing when you start doing what you enjoy you find others doing the same.

WorkingHours
Blogging and digital marketing especially which I’m pretty rubbish at. But also to incorporate more travel for this year, and hope to explore the region a lot more. Focus on online sales / marketing strategies. Hope to get comfortable with this side of business this year. Easier said then done.

Me time…
Me
…because just looking after yourself is it’s own therapy

YOga
This is a big one. I’ve tried many times to motivate myself to loose weight and get fit. I’ve come to realise that it boils down to what kind of exercise I enjoy most and to keep at it.

GentleHands
I don’t mean moisturising. A touch of a hand can mean so much. An hard grab, a spank, a tickle, stroking hair or even a hug can mean so much even without words. This year I want to practice using my hands more lovingly, especially with my children.

Explore
Because nature is too beautiful to not explore.

Waiting for Tuesday!

Bittersweet Tuesday I think because Wednesday I’m scheduled for a tooth extraction but Tuesday I’m meeting my lovely friends Marie and Liz at…

Choupiette

Checked out their facebook page and this restaurant looks Divine. The food looks perfection and I love how they serve coffee in a home style coffee cup. The ambiance of the place is perfect for our little morning girlie session sans kiddies!

Pisa, I need to sleep…

So here I am checking out some hotels in Pisa where we’re intending to stay a night before we drive to Florence… Oh Sorry, did I not mention, we’re going to ITALY BABY!!!!

Royal Victoria Hotel
Was looking at some B&B options because we’re not intending to spend a wad of cash on a place just to rest our head for a night and this is one option I looked at. I’m liking what I see so far…

Long Time Coming

Image from Absolutely Beautiful Things

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Hope the sun is shining brightly wherever you are. The week looks promising as I’ve started to manage my time a little better juggling baby and running Urban Kandy.

I’ve come to the realization that my situation with time management is never going to get better. I’m going to be sleep deprived for the next 10-20 years and will be caffeine junkie. (Never liked the taste of coffee till now)

As a mum, you’ve just got to think on the spot, manage your day around your kid’s schedules and always search for pockets of time to work, exercise, unwind, socialise, groom, etc.. I was in denial for 9 months.

My little conclusion to all this is a fun mix of chaos and excitement is actually what life is all about. I’m blessed that I have a supporting husband and supports me in pursuing both my passions and I get to do what I love everyday!

Here’s to another day of enjoying the chaos.

Ode to Dads

I’m feeling major tugging on my heartstrings looking at these pictures.

Images : Hot Men with Babies

Here’s a gorgeous little poem dedicated to my Dad (I know he’s reading this). Hope everyone is having a fabulous week.

Mother is all that is noble and fine,
And all that is right and good.
She richly deserves every sonnet sung
To her glorious motherhood.

And when Mother receives some acclaim
The whole wide world is glad,
But away down deep in every heart
There’s a place that is just for Dad.

We may not shower him with praise
Nor mention his name in song,
And sometimes it seems that we forget
The joy he spreads as he goes along,

But it doesn’t mean that we don’t know
The wonderful role that he has had.
And away down deep in every heart
There’s a place that is just for Dad.

Dream Shophouse

I never get tired of looking at beautifully restored shophouses. I love the framed full length shutters, the spacious interiors and the fact that most beautiful shophouses are lined along quiet streets and is so peaceful it takes you away from the constant craziness of the city.

Our government started taking notice that Singapore was starting to loose its original identity by replacing our old historical buildings to make way for more modern structures. So you can imagine these homes are now hot property.

Speaking of hot property, here’s a feature home of Sue Day and Nick Hawkins.

Beautiful restoration, keeping the door and window paneling and furnished with gorgeous Asian art. Cool white marble flooring works well with our tropical weather along with soft lighting by converted Burmese betelnul box lamps.

Don’t we just love to have an quiet sanctuary like this in our home. Liking the bamboo ladder against the bookshelf.

Chinese cabinet converted to a gorgeous bathroom vanity. Love it!
