TBC (Tolerance Barometer Check) tracked throughout the day that I like to jot down in my bullet journal. This ranges from low tolerance (1) to high tolerance (5)
Knowing when I need to practice self-love is gauged by my Tolerance Barometer Check at various times of the day.
- 2.pm TBC 5
- 6pm TBC 1
TBC 1 means my tolerance levels are pretty low, and chances are I might be rather snappy or just negative to be around. So this is an indicator for me to do something that puts myself first. It is like putting on my oxygen mask first before helping someone else when cabin pressure drops suddenly.
This encourages me to incorporate some quick and easy self-love habits into my day, which can range from:
1) Eat / Drink something healthy and nourishing or avoid eating /drinking something unhealthy
2) Go out for a walk or move my body in some way
3) Practice meditation
4) Surround myself with nature
5) A nap or a good early night is sometimes needed
6) Reading or learning something that encourages self-awareness
7) Bullet Journaling – Like tracking my TBC and studying patterns and triggers
It’s interesting to see in reflection when in the day that my tolerance starts depleting – maybe it’s after certain times of the day or after a particular task – it’s interesting for me to see what activities lower my TBC. Sometimes, it’s after a specific meeting with someone brings my TBC low; it could be working on a particular task or helping someone that increases my TBC. Sometimes watching particular TV shows can increase or decrease my TBC.
I just thought I’d share this little gauge method and see if it works well for you.
