So as I am writing in my little black diary I realise that my writing is starting to make more sense (at least to me)… and the more I read back what I’ve written, the more I fell compelled to journal this down here in hopes that hopefully someone would read this and think the same thoughts and share my jam with me. This is my little, what I categorise as – Musings.

In life, we get hurt, we get angry, sad, jealous; one negative emotion after another every day. We let it consume us, cloud our judgement and our thoughts, the decision that we make and ultimately the way we live our lives. We are our own constant distraction destined to failure if we carry on this way. Is this what it means to be born in sin? (I always try to piece together biblical scripture to life dilemmas). To live a life of one disastrous mistake after another. Doomed by our clouded perceptions that the world is a bad place?

But what if this isn’t the way we need to live. I love to question this because I see how there’s beauty everywhere. I have been spending time out in nature a-lot. With nature, there’s no denying that if you can catch a sunrise or a sunset you will be in awe of the beauty that God has created for us. It still takes my breath away. Beauty and love is all around us, we just need to be awake enough to see it. However, being consumed in fear and stress causes our energy to grow heavy and more dense. Love vibrates at a higher frequency as compared to the frequency of stress. We are only human after all, not exempted from experiencing down times; where energy is low and we loose our sights to beauty. As technology improves we can get easily misguided by false advertising and by material needs thinking it will make us happier.
Stay Awake
How do we awaken ourself from this thought pattern and this lifestyle of past beliefs?
- Awareness to our emotion.
Allowing ourselves to think and feel our emotions is key. Let’s not hide or distract ourselves from our feelings. Remember it is OK to feel these negative emotions, feeling of hurt, sadness, anxious, jealousy etc. Sitting with our emotions is not bad – it is unhealthy to run away or distract ourselves from it. Accept these emotions as yours to deal with and allow yourself to feel it. Emotions needs to be felt and embraced as part of self-awareness. - Understand how your mind works
Our mind is an amazing tool. Used consciously, it can actually help you ascend you to greatness, living your life as re-runs a.k.a unconsciously can be detrimental to our health. - Practice gratitude and setting intentions
It’s natural for our minds to want to focus on the negatives – It is it’s way of protection and wanting to prepare us for the worst. It’s our automatic way of thinking from past beliefs. Start catching these negative thoughts and mindfully turn your thoughts into positives. Gratitude is one of the best ways, the other is setting intentions. I once made a video of my intentions, from home decor, to how I wanted my relationships to be like (taking snippets from romantic movies) and holy moly do they work! If you meet me I can tell you more about it. - Brain food – Be awake to what you feed your brain.
When we live unconsciously, we become susceptible to absorbing information as fact – a bit like programming. Whether it is from social media, or the news to what we watch on tv. Like raising a toddler, be mindful to what you expose yourself to. If social media is leaving you with an emotional sense of lack or unworthiness then you need to take action and ‘unfollow’. Same goes with people and relationships. You wouldn’t eat something that’s toxic wouldn’t you? - Strengthen your physical body
It’s God given, so honour it. Just like your mind, same goes with the rest of your body, This is the vessel that is going to help you transcend. Enjoy it but also look after it. Make it the best tool you’ll ever need in your tool box. Being your best self shows up physically, and vice-versa, working on your physical body can help you feel better on the inside too! - Meditation and Prayer
When you start and commit to a daily meditation or spiritual practice; be prepared for the changes that will take place in your life. When you set intentions and start to be mindful in your walking day things will start to shift and it might get uncomfortable. This is because you no longer are living on auto-drive. Some painful emotions might need you showing up to face it. But know that the universe is rigged in your favour. You are loved by a divide loving God. Have faith in the greater good and know that the outcome will be fruitful and unexpected. Trust the process.
