Listen, life is stressful enough as it is. We are living in a materialistic world where we are constantly judging and comparing ourselves to others. Keeping up with fashion trends, making money, raising children, keeping fit, diet trends, environment awareness, studies, charity etc etc. We are constantly pushing ourselves to be better, and to do better. When is it enough? When are we just going to pull the breaks and take control of our lives once again.
The Material World Vortex
Over the past few weeks, I have been questioning myself to understand how far am I willing to reach and to what sacrifice to get to a place where I feel… good enough. Getting myself sucked into the hole of {I have to’s}. I have to do more online content, I have to cook more dinners at home, I have to spend quality time with my family, I have to practice, I have to make x amount of money etc.
Working double time or even forcing myself to focus on taking one step in front of another hard to do. When you are living in survival mode your body reacts to it similar to being chased by a tiger! There is a chemical release and your brain is in over drive of thoughts, your metabolism slows down to preserve energy for fight / flight. You are being pulled to a lower level of energy… it’s really not going to feel great in the long term. No amounts of bubble baths, wine, massages is going to help you change your thoughts the moment you wake up each morning and start it all over again.
Spiritual Check-in
"Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” – Colossians 3:2
Remind yourself that the material world and all it’s problems are a distraction. Distracting you from your focus to your spiritual awareness. Spend time in a calming environment like in nature or a forest. Listen to the birds and the leaves of the trees. ‘Just be’ with yourself – alone without distractions of phones, or devices. You can do a few stretches or movement exercises to help expand your breath. Then check in spiritually to your higher purpose. You can meditate, read scripture, journal, or just sit and focus your attention to your heart. Ask for guidance. Many times we are too pre-occupied with the material distractions of lack that we loose sight of our spiritual tap to abundance.
Your spiritual health sets the paradigm of your physical realm.
I Get To…
Once you keep to your practice, start to be aware of the choices you make when you are in a state of peace and calm and how different it was to when you were in survival. Opportunities to be close to people or having time to be with family opens up for you. The more I felt my spiritual cup filled, the more I became present to the things I Get To Do rather then have to do. The need to have to do things that was unnecessary falls away, making decisions easier and directions clearer. You start to feel more inspired rather then expired. Your energy increases and you start attracting more and more abundance in your life.
We live in a paradox world, our main focus shouldn’t be to try to make sense of it but rather to keep focus on lifting our energy and that includes recharging our spiritual batteries. Explore our Yoga in the Park classes that we have opening twice a week. More information below. 🍃
