Hello and Welcome!
Functional movement has always been important in my practice. I started my fitness journey running. But due to a lack of resources and training in understanding the function of muscular support of joints and movement at the time, I suffered multiple pain and setbacks restricting me from enjoying the activities I love. It wasn’t until a few years ago, I decided to get myself fit and strong while working closely with professional trainers, doing things I was once afraid to do, asking tons of questions and deepening my knowledge in the biomechanics of strength and mobility did I realise how important it was to implement this in my yoga practice and teachings today.
Let’s face it; not everyone is born with hypermobility to get us into pretty (non-functional) yoga shapes, which in the long run creates lots of damage to the joints and tendons. On the flip side, through lack of movement, be it from lifestyle choices – our bodies take on a ton of stress and emotional baggage, which tend to show up on our bodies in the form of tightness and pain. If any of this sounds familiar to you, then let’s talk about it. Let’s uncover the potential strength underneath the tightness & the mobility that comes with confidence that your body can take you deeper with muscular support without compromising joint flexibility.
